Workshop OATs 2013

The second internal Workshop of the Astronomical Observatory of Trieste will take place on Friday 21 June 2013 in the "Sala Ovale" of Villa Bazzoni.

The workshop will provide to the research personnel an overview of the scientific and technological activities currently in progress at OATs hightlighting for each of them updates and progresses with respect to the workshop of the last year and the plans for the period June 2013 - June 2014. Deeper presentations will be given for some activities that produced significant results during the 2012.

Finale nazionale delle Olimpiadi di astronomia 2012-2013

L'INAF - Osservatorio astronomico di Trieste organizza, in collaborazione con il Museo dell'Occhiale, la finale nazionale delle Olimpiadi Italiane di Astronomia che si svolgerà a Pieve di Cadore (BL) dal 20 al 22 aprile 2013 assieme alla chiusura della XIV settimana nazionale dell'astronomia.

Alla finale partecipano 41 ragazzi di tutta Italia, tra cui i 4 vincitori della gara interregionale Triveneta che si è svolta a Trieste lo scorso 18 febbraio: Marco Codato (VE), Lisa Da Vinchie (BL), Francesca Lorenzutti (TS) e Mattia Soravia (BL).

I tre giorni della finale prevedono, oltre alle gare, anche un ricco programma di incontri e conferenze: "Universo da scoprire" di C. Böhm, (Oss. astr. Trieste) sabato 20 aprile alle 18:00; "L'avventura di un astronomo in Antartide" di M. Dolci (Oss. astr. Teramo) domenica 21 aprile alle 21:00 e "Il nuovo Sistema Solare" di C. Barbieri (Università di Padova) lunedì 22 aprile alle 10:00. Il programma completo dell'iniziativa è disponibile qui.

Le gare scritte, dedicate alla risoluzione di cinque problemi teorici e un esercizio pratico, si svolgeranno presso il liceo scientifico E. Fermi. La giuria avrà poi il compito di valutare le prove nella prospettiva di far giungere gli studenti migliori alla gara internazionale, che avrà luogo in settembre in Lituania.
